Operation Transformation

Operation Transformation is BACK and we’re ALL getting involved to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

The hugely popular ‘Ireland Lights Up’ walking initiative returns in January along with the much-anticipated return of the show on January 8th which will run through to February 26th, which is in partnership with the GAA, Operation Transformation, and Get Ireland Walking.

GAA clubs across Ireland will once again ensure ‘Ireland Lights Up’ by hosting community walking groups during the eight-week broadcast period of the hit RTÉ show. The Old Mill and the local GAA clubs, St Anne’s and Thomas Davis GAA club have had a close relationship for many years.  The clubs support and push all those looking to get involved in Operation Transformation and we’re getting involved.

Over 270 clubs participated in Ireland Lights Up in 2019, with a total of 65,000 walkers getting out during the initiative. Let’s make this bigger and better than ever with everyone in Tallaght getting behind this great community event. St Annes and Thomas Davis will host a weekly walk and we want to help and reward all of you taking part.

To celebrate this fantastic event our Head Chef has created a weekly special that will have you running to the finish line. With fresh dishes like poached chicken Laksa with lemongrass and ginger.

Keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for exciting fresh recipe ideas plus photoshoots of what’s being prepped plus much more.

Let’s go Tallaght!

Summer Grilling at The Old Mill

The Old Mill really got into the summer feeling this past weekend. Head Chef Zsolt transformed its menu into a tropical paradise. Giving customers the opportunity to stray from a more traditional option to dishes like grilled salmon with mango and avocado salsa. Daring to play with ingredients that we wouldn’t at home. The event which is now in its second year and by the looks of it will have a third next, is on for one weekend only making you crave it as soon as you leave. The vibrant menu went down a storm and received high praise. Giving food for thought on ways to spice up the ingredients on the grill at home.

It’ll be a weekend to mark in the diary for next year. We’re excited to see what creations Head Chef Zsolt has up his sleeve.

Until then …

If you and your family or friends joined The Old Mill for The Summer Grill, we would love to hear about your experience
